About Music Lessons On Wheels

A brief history:
Music Lessons on Wheels was founded by Jordeen Hays in 2001. Jordeen is an experienced Washington State educator and musician and her unique teaching philosophy was met with immediate success. By 2003, Jordeen had formulated much of our curriculum in use today.

Rapid, sustainable growth: By 2005 it became apparent to Jordeen that the company was ready to take on more students and she teamed up with current executive director, Jeanne Freng (MA), in early 2006 for the purpose of reaching more future musicians in the greater Seattle area. Jeanne has a solid background not only in music and pedagogy but also administration.

Autumn Freng-Meeteer, a student at Highline Community College, serves as our part-time Administrative Assistant.

Last but not least, Cara V. Sawyer, the newest member of the MLOW administrative and pedagogical team, joined the company in April 2007. Her diverse background includes music, music education, linguistics, and sales. Cara's role is to make MLOW music education available to more families in the greater Puget Sound region.

Our goal: We want everyone to have the opportunity to discover the fun and rewards of making music! Our company prides itself on effectively bringing high-quality music lessons to our client programs at affordable prices. We do this by providing on-site piano lessons at schools and centers in the Seattle area as well as providing in-home lessons for more advanced students. Please view our list of references.

Teachers: Our teachers join us from a variety of backgrounds; what they all have in common is the ability to communicate their love of music to our students. We look for teachers who have a background in music and education. Our teachers first must pass a background check and then are trained for a number of weeks in our teaching practices.
